Robert Louis Stevenson
From Child's Garden of Verses
In winter I get up at night
And dress by yellow candle-light.
In summer quite the other way,
I have to go to bed by day.
I have to go to bed and see
The birds still hopping on the tree,
Or hear the grown-up people's feet
Still going past me in the street.

And does it not seem hard to you,
When all the sky is clear and blue,
And I should like so much to play,
To have to go to bed by day?
DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME IS A NUISANCE ! ! !
Don't you wish you didn't have to change your clocks twice a year?
There are many reasons why Daylight Savings Time is not necessary any more.
1. It messes with your sleep patterns.
2. It doesn't save on electricity.
3. It doesn't help make better use of daylight.
4. Why bother with standard time if you're not going to use it.
There are many Websites with information on how and why Daylight Savings Time started in the U.S. If you want to read that information, click on the site below.

We are 3 home schooled brothers who have decided that Daylight Savings Time has been here long enough and needs to go.
The Uniform Time Act of 1966 (15 U.S. Code Section 260a), signed into Public Law 89-387 on April 12, 1966, by President Lyndon Johnson says that a state may elect not to observe Daylight Savings Time by passing a law to that effect. The State of Arizona already has a law which we adapted to use in Texas. We propose a law for Texas reading like this:
(Section or Article ____________. Standard time)
(a) The standard time in Texas shall be the solar time of the Ninetieth meridian west of Greenwich, commonly known as central time and also known as Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) 6.
(b). This section shall not be construed to affect the standard time established by United States law governing the movements of common carriers engaged in interstate commerce or the time for performance of an act by an officer or department of the United States, as established by a statute, lawful order, rule or regulation of the United States or an agency thereof.
(c). Notwithstanding any other provision of law to the contrary by the United States government relating to adoption of daylight saving time by all of the states, the state of Texas elects to reject such time and elects to continue in force the terms of subsection A, relating to standard time in Texas.
(d). The rejection of daylight saving time as provided for in this section may be changed by future legislative action.
